The Red Deer Arts Council is calling for exhibition proposals for the 2023-2025 lineup for the Kiwanis Gallery which is in the lower level of the downtown branch of the Red Deer Public Library. Currently, there are 3 timeslots available in 2023, so we encourage you to get your application in quickly if you have an exhibit ready or nearly ready to go.  2024 and 2025 have 6 timeslots available. The Red Deer Arts Council accepts exhibition proposals for:

b. two-person exhibitions
c. group exhibitions

Submissions must be received by September 8, 2022.
The Kiwanis Gallery located in the Red Deer Public Library (4818 49th Street, Red Deer, Alberta) and it is operated by the Red Deer Arts Council. The gallery has 53 linear feet of exhibition space as well as the floor space that will accommodate the arts council’s covered sculpture stands for 3D works. Gallery floor plan available upon request.

Monday to Thursday 10am–8pm
Friday 12 pm–5pm
Saturday 10 am–3 pm
Sundays Closed

The RDAC Visual Arts Committee oversees the operations of the Kiwanis Gallery. Red Deer Arts Council pays artists fees in accordance with CARFAC rates for Exhibitions in Other Public Places, where applicable. Packing materials must be returned with the artist as there is no storage at the gallery. This call is open for Alberta Artists to apply unless the artist has family in the region – the RDAC does not pay travel or shipping costs. Shipping is the responsibility of the artist(s). Insurance is carried by the artist(s).

Note: Artists who have shown at the gallery in the previous two years are not eligible to apply until the third year, with an exhibit held in the fourth year. (For example, if you applied and had a show in 2020, you could submit again in 2023 for a 2024 exhibition.)
