Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund

The Edmonton Artist’s Trust Fund (EATF) is a joint project of the Edmonton Arts Council and the Edmonton Community Foundation. The EATF is designed to invest in Edmonton’s creative community and to encourage artists to stay in our community. The funds are intended to offset living and working expenses, allowing the artist to devote a concentrated period of time to his/her artistic activities, career enhancement and/or development.

Funds are intended to support artists at all stages of their professional careers, in all fields and any artistic tradition, who demonstrate excellence in their field and commitment to working in and contributing to the Edmonton region’s arts community.

Please note that all nominations must be supported by hard copy letters of nomination, to be delivered to the Edmonton Arts Council’s office (by mail or in person) and received by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Artist Project Grants (small, up to $5000)

Individual artists and their work are the foundation of our arts community. Working alone or in groups they pursue projects that develop their practice, advance creative thought, contribute to an art form and provide our community with a reflection of itself. Those projects are the research and development activity of the creative sector, feeding the greater arts ecosystem locally and for export.

Artist Project Grants are intended to invest in the specific projects of individual artists and artist collectives as they pursue their artistic and professional advancement.

Deadline: September 17, 2018

Cultural Diversity in the Arts Project Grant

Artists from all parts of the world enrich Edmonton’s cultural scene. Artists from these communities can apply to any Edmonton Arts Council program, but many also face cultural, linguistic or historical barriers to accessing support. The intent of this program is to provide an entry point, to help these artists begin to overcome those barriers, to pursue their professional artistic work and develop connections to the greater Edmonton arts community.

Grants will support the activities of individual, Edmonton artists for a specific time towards a specific project. Projects can be individual or collective and could include creation of work in any art form. Professional development and mentorship projects are encouraged.

Deadline: October 15, 2018
