Artists of all disciplines often have fluctuating energy and inspiration levels.  After you’ve worked hard to put together the show, after the grand opening, do you take a break?  When you’re feeling emotionally/spiritually depleted, do you try to push through and keep producing?

When your professional status (and income) depends on your output, normal ups and downs can have a magnified psychological effect.

Many of us put a lot of pressure on ourselves, especially when we are first starting out on our artists’ journey.  People who’ve been in it longer can have the very same struggles, but are sometimes able to go easier on themselves, finding ways to balance those ups & downs.

Whether we’re just starting out or have been in it for decades, managing the journey requires an ever-evolving view.  There is no one-size-fits-all way, but by sharing our experiences and insights, we can continue to learn to take care of ourselves (and one another) through the struggles and the triumphs.

Join Sharon and Verna for a conversation about managing the journey of being a visual artist.
