February 18 to March 20, 2010
Opening Reception February 18, 2010

Visual Arts Alberta presents SPACES from visual artists Linda Daoust and John Richardson.

Linda Daoust’s series of paintings looks inside of everyone, to try to understand what we are doing to this planet, this world, and to each other. Daoust uses her work to explore questions of equality, change, good, and evil. She explores the human condition, the Human Stain: how we spend our time on the planet.

John Richardson’s Apellean Sketches are a series of 24 intimate paintings. Richardson offers his personal exploration of history and spaces by capturing views of mountain sides and stormy Mediterranean skies. Feeling a desire to explore the possibilities of a limited palette; Richardson searches for a subject that would be personal but also has the depth of history and timelessness that could relate the viewer to classical Greek painters and their ideals.
