The Works International Visual Arts Society announces the Diamond Jubilee Community Archives Art Project

Were you there? Were your parents there? Have you heard stories about relatives or friends meeting Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II?

Works International Visual Arts Society is calling for photos, videos and memories of Queen Elizabeth’s three post-coronation visits to Edmonton in 1959, 1978 and 2005.

The Works Society will use copies of photos, video, and other memories from these visits to assemble multidisciplinary, public art presentations. A central component of The Project is to activate Edmonton’s own ‘community archive’ of photographers, videographers and collectors to assemble a body of work that will contribute to the public’s understanding of each event.

Bring in your submissions for evaluation any Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Works main office (10635 95 St., Edmonton, Alberta) or email marketing@theworks.ab.ca for more information on how to have your memorabilia evaluated.

The Works will be holding archival collection days, the dates of which will be announced soon on The Works Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/TheWorksArtandDesignFestival)
