Calgary Cancer Centre (CCC) This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by Arup Canada Inc. representing Alberta Infrastructure to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Art Consultant to provide strategic Art consultant services and facilitate the procurement process for Public Art for the new Calgary Cancer Centre (CCC), as further described in the RFP’s Deliverables.

RFP Submission Deadline: April 2nd 2018 at 2:00 PM.

The new Calgary Cancer Centre (CCC) will be a world-class health care facility and academic centre for the provision of cancer services in Southern Alberta. The CCC will be located at the Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) site. This location is best suited to integrate cancer care with current key programs and services at the FMC site. Construction of the CCC has started in 2017 with the new facility planned to be completed and operational by 2023.

The CCC will increase cancer care capacity in southern Alberta by consolidating and expanding existing services in the Calgary Zone to support integrated and comprehensive cancer care. As outlined in the Provincial Cancer Strategy and the Calgary Cancer Service Plan, the CCC plans to meet clinical, academic and research needs as a full, comprehensive cancer facility. The CCC will support and deliver an interdisciplinary and integrated care philosophy which accommodates research, education and patient and family centered care, resulting in improved patient outcomes.

It has been a mandate of the Province of Alberta to promote the importance of art within the CCC.

The goal is to develop a strategy that results in a holistic art program that includes existing and new pieces in various mediums including digital technology.
